Dubai Properties Group Hosts Traditional Cultural Events for Residents during Ramadan


2236Dubai-UAE: 29 August, 2011 – Residents, living in communities developed by Dubai Properties Group (DPG), a member of Dubai Holding, have been treated to a series of Emirati inspired cultural events during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Traditional Ramadan tents were set up within DPG’s Shorooq Mirdiff, Al Khail Gate and Layan developments, where the UAE’s heritage and culture were showcased. Families and other residents were welcomed with Arabic coffee and dates, as well as local delicacies, such as Legemat and Rghagh. Women and children also had the opportunity to learn about the art of henna decoration.

The post-Iftar events, which were held as part of DPG’s commitment to provide opportunities for people to come together within its developments, attracted strong interest and participation from the residents of the communities involved.

Cash-Strapped Residents Get Free Debt Ad-vise in Dubai


ISDM’s free debt advisory helps in dealing with banks and manage money

261Dubai – May 8th, 2011: ISDM, the Dubai-based credit counseling and debt manage-ment company is set to hold its first free, public open house counseling event where par-ticipants can get free advise on issues related to debt, credit card management to help deal with debt-related woes.

“We are here to help manage people’s debt to enable them to have a more comfortable, more productive life,” said Yohannes Mazeingia, Managing Director, ISDM. “The event will provide an ideal platform for participants to understand the system and therefore how to better deal with financial institutions in the country.”

The event will be held on Saturday, May 14th and is open to all on a first come first serve basis. This is the first of many such consultancy workshops ISDM intends to hold over the summer months.

ISDM is working with a number of private and public organizations to help reduce their employees’ debt burden.

The services on offer from ISDM include – restructuring, negotiation, settlement and con-solidation. With the restructuring and negotiation solution, ISDM negotiates with the bank for a reasonable payment solution within the individual’s budget.

In the settlement solution, ISDM works for a final settlement amount agreeable to both the individual and bank.

Finally, in the consolidation solution, ISDM works with the banks to consolidate personal liabilities into one payment with a lower monthly installment and an extended loan term.

Dubai eGovernment offers up-to-date, bilingual information service on DSF 2010 activities

117Dubai eGovernment has announced the launch of its popular instant information service on Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) 2010 events through mDubai, providing the public with a reliable, up-to-date communication platform about the daily activities related to Dubai’s annual shopping extravaganza. mDubai is an innovative communication channel that facilitates interaction between the public and government departments via SMS.
 
The DSF 2010 service provides information about five random events on any given day. To request information in Arabic for five random events, users only need to type “DSF A” and send it as an SMS to 4488. The same information can be received in English by typing “DSF E”.

“DSF is one of the most important entertainment and shopping festivals of the year as there are numerous fun-filled activities such as concerts, exhibitions, competitions and promotions that offer exciting prizes. Dubai eGovernment’s goal is to allow residents and tourists to have a truly enjoyable experience throughout the DSF festivities by providing up-to-date information about the daily activities,” said Ahmed Bin Humaidan, Director-General, Dubai eGovernment.
 
“Users may request information about a random list of activities so that they can set a schedule and choose which places they would like to visit first. This service is particularly useful for tourists or visitors who will be in Dubai only for a short period. Having experienced the advantages of the mDubai information service during DSF 2009, residents and visitors are now again taking advantage of this innovative service as shown by the growing volume of requests we have received since the service was launched,” he added.

The mDubai service is one of the most successful e-services of Dubai eGovernment as it receives thousands of pull messages and sends millions of push messages each year. Some of the most common push messages include health card expiry notifications; traffic on roads; driving test notifications; traffic fines notifications; opening and closing timings of water bridges; trade licence expiry notifications and payment voucher notifications.
 
The most widely availed pull messages include fines enquiries from Dubai Police; flight information from Dubai Civil Aviation Authority; prayer timings from Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department; transaction status inquiries from Dubai Department of Economic Development and daily event schedule inquiries for Dubai Summer Surprises and DSF.
