Brother showcases ‘P-Touch’ label printers at ‘Middle East Electricity 2010’


Leading printing solution provider highlights label printers suitable for electricians, cable installers and other electrical professionals

118Brother Gulf, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of printing, communication and digital imaging products for homes, SOHOs and enterprises, is showcasing its ‘P-Touch’ label printers at the ‘Middle East Electricity 2010’, a leading regional event dedicated to the energy and power generation industry, which opened today (February 9, 2010) at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The company’s participation is in line with its aims to deliver reliable label printers that can withstand harsh environments and provide key benefits for electricians, cable installers and other electrical professionals.

The two ‘P-Touch’ label printers currently being showcased at the event include the PT-7600, and the new PT-9700PC, which boasts of a print speed of up to 20mm/second using TZ laminated tape and up to 80mm/second using HG tape. Both are high performance, PC compatible labelling systems that are capable of database and barcode printing, with the PT-9700PC also incorporating an automatic cutter. In addition to creating labels that can withstand water, chemicals and heat, the key benefits of using ‘P-touch’ also include professional installation, and ease of operation and maintenance through labels that help in identifying electrical and network components and safety through professional warning signs.

“Our decision to participate at the ‘Middle East Electricity 2010’ for the first time is aimed at positioning ‘Brother’ as printer of choice within the electrical and energy sector, seeing the extensive use of these equipment for both efficiency and safety purposes,” said Shinji Tada, Managing Director, Brother Gulf. “By demonstrating our professional labeling machines and durable labels to visitors, we are looking forward to identifying key contractors and cable installers who require our reliable labeling solutions. “

Other features incorporated within PT-7600 label printers include a backlit LCD display, rechargeable battery, automatic numbering, and ability to upload database and label designs using USB connection. It can also print electrical, audio and video symbols, and has built-in label formats that serve electrical industry applications including normal, port, panel, cable, rotate, rotate and repeat and vertical. Meanwhile, Brother Gulf’s ‘P-Touch’ distributor in the UAE, Almoe Digital Solutions – which is active in serving labeling needs of corporate clients across industries – has joined Brother during its participation in Middle East Electricity 2010. Brother’s booth is located at Stand No. 8E26, Hall No. 8.

Leading manufacturer hosts dealers’ meeting to introduce new labelling machine models

19Brother Gulf, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of printing, communication and digital imaging products for homes, SOHOs and enterprises, has reported a 15 per cent growth in its ‘P-touch’ Electronic Stationery business in the UAE for 2009, underlining the stable demand for the manufacturer’s labelling printers amidst the downturn. The company has also recently hosted a dealer’s meeting at the Sheraton Dubai Creek Hotel & Towers, along with its UAE distributor ALMOE Digital Solutions to introduce the new labelling machines and award top performing dealers. All 15 local ‘P-touch’ dealers attended the event, which also witnessed the launch of the latest ‘P-touch’ models – PT-2700AR, PT-90, PT-1090 and PT-1290.

The only model in the market with Arabic, English and Persian interface and keyboard, the PC-connectable PT-2700AR is the latest model in Brother’s electronic label printer line-up. It can print up to seven lines, support nine types of barcodes and feature a total of six fonts, 11 type styles, 22 frame styles and 123 symbols. In addition to showcasing the new product, Brother also announced the top three performers among its UAE dealers in 2009, who received awards from the manufacturer.

“While many companies are expecting 2010 to be flat with minimal prospects for growth, we in Brother are anticipating increased activity in our label printer business on account of the  recent launch of our new products, specially the one that can print in both Arabic and Farsi,” said Shinji Tada, Managing Director, Brother Gulf. “This unique product opened up a new segment in our label printer line up by catering to the specific needs of businesses and users within the Middle East region. The dealer’s meet was aimed at further growing our electronic stationery business by engaging our partners in a more proactive value added program, and also served as a venue for us to recognise their significant contributions to the growth of ‘P-touch’ by rewarding them for their excellent work.”

With a QWERTY keyboard, the PT-90 uses 9mm and 12mm M tape, features eight kinds of new tape decorations, incorporates a manual cutter and label frames. On the other hand, the more advanced PT-1090 boasts of an ABC keyboard, 12 new tape decorations modes and time and date function, while the PT-1290 sports a QWERTY keyboard, 15 new tape decorations modes, mirror printing, numbering function and two fonts. Both models use 6mm, 9mm and 12mm TZ laminated tape, has manual cutter and label frames. Three more products – the PT-1830VP (desktop model), the PT-2430PC (‘plug & print’ PC model), and the QL model (QL-570) were also showcased during the event.
