If you want something new and are looking for a bargain, the best place to look online is e-bay without a doubt. However, who would have guessed that e-bay would eventually become a place where one can also purchase a car. However, in recent news it has been announced that General Motors and E-bay have launched a joint venture whereby potential car buyers can haggle online for car deals. Launched in California, the promotion will initially run until September 8. However, GM insists that dealers should not be concerned as the dealership will always be the end point of the transaction. Approximately 225 Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Pontiac dealers will participate voluntarily via a new car shopping website, gm.ebay.com. Visitors to the site must enter the car they are looking for and their postal code. Customers can ‘’Buy Now’’ or go for the Best Offer option depending on what they want and their budget. In addition the joint venture will also allow buyers to arrange financing and payment for the car. The new site though really targets those who are comfortable negotiating and transacting at arm’s length, for everyone else a dealership is without doubt the next best thing.
