DIB opens new branch in Dubai Mall, 70th in UAE


297Dubai  : In line with its commitment to customer convenience, Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) announced today the opening of its newest branch, located in The Dubai Mall, bringing the bank’s UAE-wide network to a total of 70 branches. The new branch, DIB’s 32nd in Dubai, offers customers a full suite of banking services.

DIB continues to implement its strategy to open more branches in malls, where customers can conveniently combine banking with shopping activities. The opening of the bank’s Dubai Mall branch is its second in-mall launch in just one month – following the recent opening of the DIB branch in Sahara Centre in Sharjah – raising the bank’s total in-mall network to 8.

2186Dubai, UAE, 29th December, 2010: La Martina welcomed in its store at Dubai Mall a group of Egyptian actors and actresses, including Lebleba, Pousi, Rania Fareed Shawki, Moustafa Fahmi, Ahmed Bedir, Mohamed Rajab, Pousi Shalabi and others. They were escorted by Mrs. Manal Al Khayyat.

The surprise visit has added a touch of glamour to the mall and people were running to take pictures with the popular stars.

Zaid Al Khayyat, Director, Al Khayyat Investments LLC, representative of La Martina in the UAE said: “We are thrilled by this visit. The visitors were impressed by the world class ambience of the store. This is a good trend, and is in line with trends in Europe and America where this brand is very popular amongst celebrities.”

The visitors were impressed by the design of the store which is richly decorated to allow customers to browse and shop in a charming living-room environment. In its Dubai Mall store, La Martina has re-created the homey “La Casona” concept (which means ‘home’ in Argentina). The concept is designed to evoke an ambience of coziness, as if visitors are sitting in a Polo champion’s house.”

• The store launch includes a custom built photo studio, allowing visitors to try on key looks from Manoukian and be their own fashion model by “shooting themselves”;

• Manoukian - which stands for feminine, French fashion - hosts a modern collection for the urban young woman of today – taking her from day to night  - from work to weekend;

• The brand Manoukian was bought by Max Azria, founder of BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP, in 2005, as part of his return to France – the designer’s adoptive country.

Manoukian, the fresh French fashion brand announces the opening of its first Middle Eastern store in the Dubai Mall on July 21st, 2010.

The store will be celebrating with a stylish launch event on Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 from 6:00pm. In addition to models showcasing the latest collection from Manoukian, the store will play host to a pop up photography studio, encouraging visitors to be their own fashion models. The “Shoot Yourself” concept wants people to immerse themselves in the brand by trying on the Manoukian clothing  - being their own model – and using cameras with remote controls to take their own photo, which they will receive a framed copy of on the night. All images taken in the studio will also be placed into a full DVD montage with music, which will later be shared with the media.

The launch event will also include live entertainment from DJ Venus.

The Manoukian brand, which stands for feminine, French design, hosts a modern collection for the urban young woman of today – taking her from day to night - from work to weekend. The latest AW10 collection includes trendy knits, novelty woven and a unique collection of evening dresses, all in a deliberately accessible price range.

Among the most popular attractions at SEGA Republic, SPIN GEAR occupies nearly 20% of the total area of the theme park. With a total track length of 363 metres, SPIN GEAR travels up and down over 50 metres and twists and turns a minimum of 2,790 degrees, assuring an unmatched adventurous journey for guests.

Mr Joe Gibbons, General Manager, Emaar Retail, which manages SEGA Republic, said the sense of adventure and fun offered by SPIN GEAR is unparalleled in the region, making it one of the most popular attractions among visitors.

“The popularity of SPIN GEAR is reflected in the distance covered by the roller coaster ride in a short span of five months. Emaar Retail will introduce a series of gift ideas linked to SPIN GEAR to further encourage the adventurous,” he added.

Unlike the usual roller coasters, SPIN GEAR comes with a themed story that adds to the interest of participants. The themed ride is based on story of the evil plans of Dr. Eggman, who is Sonic the Hedgehog’s arch nemesis.

Dr. Eggman has taken over an old factory facility and has developed a prototype weapon, SPIN GEAR, for capturing Sonic the Hedgehog. Now all he needs are ‘test subjects’ and there is only way to escape his evil plans - on a rollercoaster ride that will have everyone’s head spinning.

The ride features spinning Sonic Gondolas and operates in both day and night environments. With a track width of 25 metres and depth of 56 metres, SPIN GEAR operates at two lift speeds – 2.5 metres per second and 2.3 metres per second – and has the fastest speed of 45 km per hour.

The 76,000 sq ft indoor family theme park at The Dubai Mall is designed by experts at SEGA® Corporation, the world leader in indoor entertainment. SEGA Republic features five zones – Speed, Sports, Adventure, Cyberpop and Redemption - offering an array of everything from action packed motion-simulators to simulated sports games, classic carnival games and one of the region’s largest selections of prize-winning redemption games. There are more than 200 amusement games that will appeal to all. In addition to SPIN GEAR, other adrenaline-pumping attractions include SONIC HOPPER, LET’S GO JUNGLE!
