The Dubai Public Library (DPL), owned and managed by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirates’ dedicated Authority for culture, arts and heritage, is joining hands with Dubai Health Authority to organise a blood donation campaign at Al Ras Public Library on January 13, 2015 from 9am to 1:30pm.
The campaign aims to drive philanthropic activities among the community and is open for the public. People aged 18 to 65 years and in good health can donate blood at the camp, which will support DHA’s mission to provide timely care to patients who are in urgent need of blood due to various disease conditions.
“This campaign underlines our commitment to support community-oriented initiatives that enhance societal well-being. By positively contributing to enriching people’s lives across all segments of society,” said Abdulrahman Ebrahim, Director of Public Libraries Department at Dubai Culture.
To participate, donors must not have donated blood in the past three months, do not take medicine for blood pressure or for other conditions such as diabetes, do not suffer from anemia, hepatitis or other such disorders and have not undergone any surgery in the past one year.
