Mashreq employees graduate in General Management Certificate program of XLRi

467The UAE’s leading financial institution, Mashreq, today announced the graduation of 48 of its employees from the banks’ General Management Certificate Program. The announcement was preceded by a ceremony that took place in Dubai recently and was inaugurated last year, in collaboration with the Xavier School of Management (XLRI).

Farhad Irani, Head of Retail Banking at Mashreq, said, “Not only does Mashreq care about its customers, but this program is one of the many examples that show it cares deeply about its employees as well. Investing in our staff’s learning and development helps to foster innovation, but it also means that we continue to employ some of the most qualified individuals on the market. We see a more confident and buoyant middle management ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities of the rapidly changing retail banking space. Time and resources spent on development of staff will fetch far more results for an individual rather than just monetary incentive”

The program was initiated by Mashreq Learning Systems, the Learning and Development arm of Mashreq, which designs and implement various learning courses and development initiatives. The program is delivered in partnership with the Allied Institute of Management Studies, Dubai and will continue, ensuring that more Mashreq employees will benefit from the same expert tuition as the current crop of graduates.

Through nine months of intensive learning, our graduates studied a mix of key business topics, involving contemporary business management knowledge and content, case studies and pre and post assessments offered by eminent XLRI faculty. The decision to invest in the middle management is a significant one for creating a leadership pipeline to serve the future organizational needs.”
