478The upcoming Saudi Travel and Tourism Market (STTIM), scheduled to take place at the end of this month in Riyadh, will focus on youth in the tourism sector and experiences in tourism destination development.

The five-day event will discuss destination development aiming to increase opportunities for economic diversification and growth; creation of jobs, boosting the local economy and motivating local and foreign investors to enter the tourism sector. It will tackle the obstacles facing young people in the tourism labor market, training and awareness.

The session will highlight the importance of compatibility between the transportation capacity in the Kingdom and the local tourism needs in the light of its rapid growth.

The growing needs of frequent traveler services in terms of type, quality and quantity in the various modes of transport are the other items on the agenda.

According to the organizing committee, the event, which will be held under the aegis of Riyadh Gov. Prince Khaled bin Bandar, who is also the chairman of the Tourism Development Council, will bring together the country’s leading businesses within the tourism sector for networking, business exchange, education and training.

It is Saudi Arabia’s biggest tourism tradeshow and industry event, held annually, free of charge and without the need to pre-register.

According to the organizers, the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), domestic tourism contributes more than SR70 billion to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product.

The tourism industry in the Kingdom is of key importance for travel and tourism investment in the country as it impacts, to a great extent, all the socio-economic sectors.

Both local and international specialists and investors will be leading the seminar sessions for an exchange of experiences and new ideas.

The organizer will provide additional services for exhibitors to ensure their maximum benefit from the event. These services include stand preparation, transportation, communication and hospitality. In addition, the SCTA teams will be on duty to help exhibitors and ensure maximum success.

Thousands of visitors attend the show every year from across the Kingdom looking for business with exhibitors, educational and professional development opportunities.

The participants include investors, decision makers, operators, travel planners and buyers as well as senior directors, managers from associations, agencies, corporations, non-profit organizations, government agencies and other related sectors.

Other topics include successful experiences of citizens working in the sector; career development in tourism sector; employment opportunities in the tourism sector; needs and expectations of the tourism sector; tourism education; convenience of education outputs with the tourism labor market requirements; and SCTA programs and initiatives for youth employment in the tourism sector.
