Times Square Center (TSC), one of the newest community oriented shopping centers in Dubai, has announced that it will be organising a winter-themed Arts and Crafts Soukh on December 11 and 12, 2009. The soukh will feature some of the UAE’s best contemporary artwork created by the members of the Artisans of the Emirates (ARTE) group, while other highlights of this special soukh include cooking demonstrations, handicraft workshops, and performances by the Jumeirah Choir and Dubai Drummers.
“Winter is an eagerly awaited season in Dubai and accordingly we have created a complete winter feel throughout Times Square Center, in addition to making our upcoming Arts and Crafts Soukh winter-focused. Moreover, with Christmas just round the corner we thought it would be appropriate to incorporate elements of fun and celebration with carol singing sessions by Jumeirah Choir and performances by Dubai Drummers,” said Anthony J O’Donnell, General Manager, Times Square Center.
“The Arts and Crafts Soukh has been a major attraction at Times Square Center over the years, as it presents a different kind of shopping experience with a wide choice of authentic homemade food items like pastries and cakes and special handcrafted items like jewellery and accessories,” added O’Donnell.
Times Square Center also revealed that the winter-themed Arts and Crafts Soukh will also feature face painting, hennah stalls, painting on canvas and glass, and interactive sessions covering jewellery and card making, and cup cake decoration. The cooking demonstrations that will be held will focus on vegetarian cooking with healing spices.
