With the objective of raising funds for the UN’s World Food Programme and in conjunction with the Red Crescent Society, the Dubai Marriott Business Council recently organized the 6th Marriott Spirit to Serve Charity Golf Tournament at the Dubai Creek Golf Club and Resort. The tournament raised 38, 642 Dhs in addition to the 130,000 that was raised throughout the year through the dining patrons and guests of all the 4 Marriott Hotels namely: JW Marriott Dubai, Courtyard by Marriott Green Community, Marriott Executive Apartments and the Renaissance Dubai Hotel. Last year, over 84,788 dhs were raised by all four hotels through various charity projects.
The UN’s World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger and malnutrition worldwide which are the number one risk to health worldwide. Through this program, every guest of the 4 Marriott Hotels contribute 5 dhs which upon their consent is added to their bill upon check out or when they dine at any of the participating hotels’ restaurants.
The event was supported by other socio-civic organizations such as Qatar Airways, Anta Group, Caterpillar, Reaction, Xerox, Pepsi and Dubai Duty Free, Salam Studio and Sores at Wafi Mall and Mamiya Jewellers as well as partner hotels such as Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel London, JW Marriott Hotels in Bangkok, Cairo and Mumbai, Singapore Marriott Hotel, Renaissance Hotel Koh Samui, Sharm El Sheikh Red Rea Resort Marriott and Ritz Carlton Dubai.
